There’s nothing like coming home to a home scented with your favorite Scentsy fragrances. Each person’s sense of smell is different, which means the scent of some Scentsy fragrances seem stronger than others, while some seem to linger longer than most. However, these strong Scentsy fragrances differ from person to person. How do you know which Scentsy fragrances will smell stronger to you and which will last the longest?
The Science of Scent
Nose blindness, also known as olfactory fatigue or fragrance fatigue, is the loss of your sense of smell for certain fragrances after a period of time. Nose blindness is a natural adaptation that decreases the perception of the scents you’re exposed to and is generally your brain’s way of preventing you from becoming overstimulated.
However, just because the brain decided it was a helpful adaptation doesn’t mean you consider nose blindness a favor. Most of us who are Scentsy lovers want to be able to smell the fragrance that we’ve chosen.
There is no way to know which Scentsy fragrances will smell strong to you and which will play more into the background, because there’s no way to know which fragrances your brain is intentionally decreasing the perception of at any given time. However, there are some fragrances that Scentsy lovers deem “stronger” than other, so we’ve listed those below.

Increase the Strength of Scentsy Fragrance in Your Home
One of the top tips for increasing Scentsy fragrance strength in your home is to change up your fragrance with each wax change. I advise keeping 5-6 different Scentsy bars on hand and switching the fragrance every time you change your wax. Remember, our noses adapt to the fragrances we’re surrounded by so we don’t notice them after a time. Changing up your fragrance, especially if you change up the fragrance family (for instance from fruity to floral or from woods to bakery), can also help so you notice the fragrance more so you can fully enjoy your Scentsy.
Another tip for increasing the strength of Scentsy fragrances is to choose fragrances that are dissimilar to the perfume, cleaning products (especially if you use Scentsy cleaning products), laundry products, etc. This can be a little less popular of a solution since there’s a reason we choose the fragrances we do–because we love them! But if you use similar fragrances in different areas of your life, the fragrance is more likely to smell weak to you because of nose blindness, as mentioned above. This is one of the reason people are drawn to seasonal scents, especially spice fragrances in the fall and pine fragrances in the winter–because you don’t smell these fragrances all year long, which means they’re novel, and therefore stronger to you, once you do pull them out. Take a similar approach when you’re selecting your day-to-day fragrances. If you’re usually a fan of bakery scents, such as vanilla or sugar cookie, try opting for a seasonal spring fragrance like coconut lemongrass or wildflower cotton.
What Scentsy Fragrances Seem Strong to You?
You might find that some of the fragrances above don’t seem strong to you, and some that aren’t listed seem to linger longer than others. Remember, everyone’s fragrance perception is different, so while these fragrances seem strong to some people, that doesn’t necessarily mean they will smell strongly for you.
