Looking for a family day out that will keep all ages entertained? Enchanted Adventure Garden in Arthur’s Seat is just 1 hour from Melbourne and one of Mornington Peninsula’s favourite family attractions.
It offers hours of fun for the young and the young at heart in truly enchanted gardens.

While the award-winning adventure park is most famous for its mazes (the attraction used to be called Enchanted Maze), there is actually lots more to experience at this huge site in Arthur’s Seat.
You can stroll around the different themed gardens, try tree-surfing, tube slides, an amazing Sky Scramble children’s playground and a pram-friendly treetop canopy walk.
Enchanted Mazes at Arthurs Seat
We start our a-maze-ing adventure with a run around the traditional hedge maze that’s inspired by England’s Hampton Court’s maze.
Look for all the Buddha statues and take a break inside the small, restful Japanese garden.
The Turf Maze features a giant topiary Loch Ness Monster and is a great maze for little kids as you can see them all the time.
We love the truly enchanting Children’s Maze with snakes and ladders game, a sandpit and cubby house, fairy garden and more!
Little kids will really believe that they are in an enchanted garden!
The decorative gardens are also a miniature hedge maze that you can walk through as you head down towards a cooling lake.
There you’ll find yet another hedge maze, with a viewing platform over the valley in the centre.

Enchanted Adventure Garden Tube Slides
At the far end of the garden you’ll find the tube slide and giant puzzles.
What is a tube slide? Well, you lie on a rubber tube and slide down several artificial ski runs. There are six slides to choose from: 2 Big Twisters, 3 Straight Giants & 1 Kids only slide.
When you reach the bottom you use the tyre leash to haul your tube back up the hill and do it all over again! It’s a huge hit with all the kids – little ones can share a tube with an adult.
Children as young as four years old can ride but under 5’s are asked to ride alongside parents in a double tube.
It’s apparently Australia’s largest tube sliding attraction. A couple of runs up and down the big hill and the kids will definitely sleep well that night!
Next to the tube sliding area are some giant brain teaser puzzles that are great for adults and children alike.
Tree Surfing at Enchanted Adventure Garden
If you have kids 4+ years then don’t miss the spectacular tree surfing course at Enchanted Adventure Garden, the only tree surfing that the Mornington Peninsula offers.
Tree surfing offers kids and adults the opportunity to climb and glide amongst the canopy of trees over three different tree zip line courses.
There are two different tree surfing options – the Tree Surfing Nippers course for kids 4-12 years old and the Tree Surfing Grand course suitable for kids and adults over 135cm.
The Nippers ropes course features three levels of climbing, jumping and swinging up in the trees and three zip lines. Note that four and five-year-old children can only participate on the Nippers course if they are accompanied by an adult at a 1:1 ratio and accompanying adults must have a valid Nippers Tree Surfing ticket. Kids who are 6 to 12 years old can climb by themselves and adults who are spectating need a General Admission ticket.
The Grand Course features two course with over 50 aerial obstacles per course, bridges and 5 zip-lines linked to tree-based platforms up to 10m high. Both Grand courses offer five different levels of challenges, a giant Tarzan swing and rock climbing wall.
Note that tree surfing is an extra cost in addition to general entry. If you decide not to book it there are still lots of other attractions on offer. But I think once the kids see the course they’ll be nagging you to do it, and it’s hard to get a booking on the day (especially during peak times like weekends and school holidays).
When pre-booking your tree surfing session my tip is to book as early a session as possible so that there are fewer people on the course at a time. If you have older kids who get stuck behind a group of little Nippers and their adults it makes for a long wait and somewhat frustrating experience.
Note the Big Zip zip line is currently closed for maintenance.
Sky Scramble
Enchanted Adventure Garden‘s newest attraction is the magnificent Sky Scramble adventure playground for kids 135cm and under.
The gigantic wooden aerial playground slings ropes and bridges 10 metres up in the trees. There are cargo nets, wobbly wooden bridges, super speedy slides, cubby houses.
The couple of ball pits with huge balls that are a particular hit with my kids!
Younger kids who may not be ready for a sky-high adventure can play in a miniature scramble net and stepping stone obstacle course at the base of the main Sky Scramble structure.
The Sky Scramble is unique to Victoria and must not be missed! Please note adults and children over 135cm are not permitted on the Sky Scramble. There’s a great viewing tower on the site as well as picnic tables.
Where to eat at Enchanted Adventure Garden
Enchanted Adventure Garden has an onsite cafe that serves barista coffee, hot drinks and standard cafe fare – pies, sausage rolls etc. It’s not particularly appealing so personally, I advise that you BYO picnic and enjoy the lovely grounds with a picnic rug. Take a refillable water bottle too – the water fountain is the spout coming out of the big mouth underneath the cafe deck.

That means for 2 children tree surfing (which includes general admission) and 1 adult general admission I saved a total of $50!
Enchanted Adventure Garden Arthur’s Seat is a great adventure park destination if you’re visiting the Mornington Peninsula and it’s suitable for toddlers right up to adults. I think it’s good value for a half or full-day visit as there is so much to do.
Tips for Enchanted Adventure Garden:
- For under 5s the children’s garden is a highlight so go there first. Our kids didn’t want to leave the sandpit!
- If you go on the tube slide with little kids then you will need to help them to pull the tubes uphill.
- Take food, snacks and water bottles with you so that you can avoid the middling cafe and way-too-tempting lolly shop. The water fountain is the spout coming out of the big mouth underneath the cafe deck.
- Tree Surfing costs extra and must be booked in advance.
- Don’t go when it is very hot or very rainy as there’s not a lot of shelter.
