They do quality work, but are messy and very difficult to work with. They re-insulated all my windows. There is yellow spray foam everywhere. The siding was done ok, there are some sloppy cuts. They did not properly install the gutter guards. They simply slid them in under the shingles of my roof. They could have blown away at any time. They came to my house and just started to do the work without giving me notice that they were coming. I showed up one evening from work and my siding was ripped off. They could have damaged my car that was parked in the driveway. They have shady pricing. They will send you a flier that says you can get 30% off with the flier. My experience was that tthe 30% discount will only get you within a 10% range of the same pricing level of the competition. I also received multiple quote updates, negotiation, from these guys. In one of them they randomly dropped the labor cost by 50%. Their pricing scheme is really shady. After the work was performed, I hired a different company to work on my house. They accidentally did some damage to work Four seasons performed. Four seasons does not work well with competitors. They act very unprofessionally if you use a different contractor for work on your house. If you dare use another company to do work on your house, and that other company accidentally does damage, these guys act like catty 13 year old drama queens. They will give you another excessively high estimate to redo the work and tell you that your warranty is voided unless you hire them to re-do the work. They will not give part numbers, they will not give paint codes, etc. to you or their competitor to fix what the competitor accidentally broke. They will be unresponsive to emails. They wont call you back. They will not send you emails, even if they agree to do it over the phone. The sales team is trained to try and upsell you at the cost of customer service. It took me a month and half a dozen phone calls to get a list of all the materials they installed on my house. In sum, really difficult to work with. Expensive. Shady business practices. I would not recommend them.

Description of Work: Installed a window. Re-wrapped and insulated all windows. Installed two screen doors. installed new siding, flashing and sofit. Installed new downspouts and gutter guards.

Our work was performed in October of 2014, the customer had another company do work in May 2015. The other company damaged the gutter covers we installed. The customer asked us for the part numbers so the other company could get replacement pieces. When it was explained that there are no part numbers since his gutter covers were custom made in house by our workers, the customer demanded we give him the part numbers for all pieces ordered for his home and refused to believe there was no part number for the gutter covers. We offered to create some replacement pieces for him for a minor charge to cover the cost of our labor and the special order material. We believe it is fair and equitable to charge for materials and labor to custom create replacement pieces when it was not our fault they were damaged. There have been no previous complaints on record in this file in regards to workmanship or materials of any kind until this post on Angie's List regarding the damaged gutter covers.

We were choosing, in the end, between this contractor and another, and we eventually went with the other. I want to commend, though, Jason Pak from 4 Seasons on his great proposal. He was punctual, professional, and extremely thorough (catching damage that at least one of the other bidders missed), and he worked to meet our needs, as some of this was not covered by our home insurance and would be out-of-pocket for us. He showed every willingness to negotiate h****** our behalf with our insurance company, something I was definitely looking for in a contractor, and I appreciated his follow-up emails. I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to work with 4 Seasons this time, but I'd definitely consider hiring them on a future project and to recommend 4 Seasons to friends and neighbors looking for roofing and remodeling help.

Description of Work: The only service provided was an estimate and proposal to fix the damage a large tree limb did to our house in the 6/30 storm. Our roof was punctured in 7 places, necessitating a new roof, some trusses were damaged/cracked, and there was significant interior damage to three rooms. As the proposal was being created, we were continually getting new information from our insurance adjustor, and I know Mr. Pak had more than one meeting with his company about our project to react to the changing information to give us the best quote he could.

Hire them. You won't be sorry on quality of materials, construction, or service.

Description of Work: I like this company so much, we keep re-hiring 4 Seasons for more work. We first hired them in 2004 for replacement windows. James, the sales rep, did not oversell, answered all of our questions, came to our house during installation when I had questions regarding proper insulation. I will confess, I am a challenging customer to work with. I do my research, I take my time in making decisions, and I demand perfection. I wanted energy efficient windows, an airtight installation, and proper clean-up of lead paint chips. They met my demands, even though the window installation took place before new EPA lead paint regs went into place. I hired them again a few years later to install new basem*nt windows. I required that my general contractor for a sunporch rebuild hire them to put the roof on a sunporch rebuild. I will likely hire them to put a new roof on my carport.

We picked them because they were well reviewed on Angie's list, and maybe they'll get better, but thus far we've been underwhelmed. The salesman put one of their signs in my yard the day we signed the contract, which was a full month before work was supposed to start. No way. You don't get free advertising in my yard for a month before you do anything. They didn't get back with me about when the work would start; I finally had to email them two weeks later. The place they ordered the new windows from showed up at my house to deliver them rather than taking them to the contractor. I told the salesman we'd be out of town for the holiday but he didn't pass that info along to the people actually doing the work, so they left a message on my answering machine between Christmas and New Year's and then showed up on 12/29 to work without having confirmed we'd be here. Really? That's sufficient contact attempts, between two holidays? My cat sitter called to let us know people were working on the house even though no one was home. Again--really? This is a good idea? But golly gee, they managed to get their SIGN in my yard again. I'm supposed to be hearing back about when they're coming to do the rest of the work, but honestly, I'm not holding my breath. Their work seems fine but their communication is lousy. UPDATE: Now that the work is finished, I can say that their communication did get better (they called back within a responsible time period to schedule the remainder of the project. The quality of the work is also acceptable.

Description of Work: We're in the middle of a project with this company, involving having the roofline extended, gutters installed, skylights replaced, and windows replaced.

They did everything I has discussed with the estimator. They even cleaned up the debris after themselves with no impact on any other part of the residence (lawn, shrubbery, even flowers). Materials were delivered on a Tuesday and. after two days of rain, they started the roof work on Friday. The gutters and eaves were done the following Tuesday. Superb job and all of it at roughly the price I figured would be appropriate. My wife and I are so pleased with the experience that we are planning on bringing them back to do some upgrading in the Spring. Just a completely pleasant experience.

Description of Work: They replaced badly leaking skylights and aged roof surrounding the light area. They also replaced a badly decayed section of roof where a drain continually backed up. They also increased the size of the gutters and drains to improve the flow off the roof. There was hidden rot behind several gutter segments and they matched vinyl panels to the original siding on the house to replace these rotted segments.

Two gentlemen arrived when promised and worked continuously until door install was completed. Neat and Tidy while working and cleaned up well when finished. I did have them return to reseal around door frame due to large gaps of outside air leaking in. Once that was done, we were pleased with service. Also had door manufacturer (Provia) came out to remove "glue" from stained glass and re-seat screw pegs on the interior of door. This repair took a lot of effort on my end to make happen and the repair work took weeks to be completed -this was more a manufacturers issue (Provia) than with Four Seasons. Seemed like Four Seasons was mainly the "seller" of the products. The salesperson was not able to assist with any of above issues. Inretrospect, Four Seasons was a bit overpriced. You can find their doors (Provia) available through other retailers for at least 2K less. I would recommend going with a manufacturer/company that actually can follow through from sales to install to adjustments (if needed). We have since had a basem*nt double door completely replaced (replacement of rotted wood, re-framed, new door system installed etc.) and went with another company who was able to handle all aspects of project ....and quoted above door for much less than Four Seasons!

Description of Work: Had Front Entry way door completely replaced (including side-lights). They installed new Provia stained glass door with matching sidelights and removed and hauled away old unit.

The Four Seasons salesman, Andrew, was low key -- which we like, since one other place we contacted sent a high-pressure guy who we practically had to eject from the house, and the third place had a salesman who was high-energy and outgoing but flaky. We know approximately what we wanted ahead of time, which is a big help, and settled on a brand and appearance. However, there were a couple of minor miscommunications. We order "Dutch-lap maple-colored siding with white trim." What we got was maple-colored, but not Dutch-lap. Rather than re-order (and wait 3 more weeks), we went with the straight-lap stuff. Also, "white trim" meant one thing to us -- based on our talks with the other vendors -- and another to Andrew. We thought it meant that all the special siding at the corners and around the windows ("corner posts" and "J channels") would be white, but by "trim" he meant just the aluminum window-frame wrappings. After we came home the first day and saw how what they had done looked, we complained. The foreman, a nice and capable Korean gentleman, did not speak English very fluently, and so we called Andrew. After some discussion of the meaning of the word "trim", we understood what had happened. In the event, they were able to get white corner posts from the same product line locally the next morning, and re-installed the corner posts; we ended up living with the non-white J channels around the windows. The installation was done in what seems to me to be a very high quality fashion, with good attention to details. They mis-measured the amount of siding needed, and had to re-order to finish the last wall of the house. Seems a little odd to me, since Andrew mentioned that after he measured the house to give us a quote, an installer also came out to measure to confirm his estimates. Despite these small snafus, we are pleased with the results. We would use them again if the occasion arises, but I think we're getting close to done for our home-improvement efforts for a while.

Description of Work: Strip off old vinyl and aluminum siding, and replace with new vinyl siding (backed with Styrofoam insulation). Also replace all gutters and gutter covers, and wrap the exterior of all existing wood windows with aluminum trim, and put vinyl soffit over all wood soffits on the house (building is about 2000 sq ft).

They have very professional sales representatives. They came to the house for an evening appointment both times so that I would be back from work and could meet them. Having a representative from a company who is professional and knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything to you and comes to the house with an evening appointment was certainly convenient. They did not try to drive up the costs and advised me only to do the necessary things. They were very good and did a good job. They were not the cheapest but they were good.

Description of Work: Four Seasons Home Improvement did roof work on the house last fall. They have also given me an estimate for door replacement and I have selected them to do the work.

I was not happy with them and their work. After about a year the roof developed a major leak and they were not responsive to my request to fix it. It took several calls and finally they sent somebody out to just put some sealant on. It did help but did not completely fix the problem. After that I decided that probably that was the best they could do and I put a bucket under the attic so that it doesn't leak into the house. It's not a big leak right now. I would not rank them high for quality, price or service.

The roof work was completed in 2008. In March of 2010 Customer called and complained that the roof was leaking. Upon inspection it was found that a tree branch had fallen on the vent over the bathroom causing the roof to leak. Replacement of the vent was offered for a minimal service charge due to the issue being unrelated to installation or material; a non-warranty issue and possible insurance claim. Customer refused so the file was noted and filed. At a later time the customer again called, and our president sent a tech to patch at no charge without replacement. We have not received any further communication from Customer since.

We were getting multiple bids and Four Seasons was very responsive during the bid process. It took a while for the work to start because it needed to be approved by the Mongtomery Village ARB. Once the work starterd it moved well. THe windows took a couple of days; the shingle a few days. The siding took longer but it was a large job. The crew was punctional and very neat. There was one area that was not done that they came back out to finish a month later. Overall the house looks very good and we are very satisfied.

High winds in December had blown off siding from the side of our house. We decided to go ahead and replace all the siding, gutters and downspouts since the rest of it wasn't in the best shape. Four Seasons worked with our insurance company which made things a little easier. The job took a little longer than I expected because only 2 people worked on the siding and bad weather kept delaying things. A different crew came and put up the gutter and downspouts in about 2 hours. The workers were very polite and even came on Sunday to finish the job. The house looks great.

I met with 3 roofing contractors. All of them were roughly within $100 for their quotes. However, Four Seasons Home Improvement Co.included the skylight and watershield w/drip edge. I requested a certificate of insurance prior to signing the proposal. Andrew Muhlboch provided the certificate when we met to sign the proposal. The roofing crew arrived on Monday March 14th and completed the entire job that day. The crew cleaned up after the job and left the property in the same conditon as when they arrived. This was an easy roofing job and Four Seasons did not complicate it. They did what they said they would do. My only complaint is that I think their pricing for plywood roof decking is a bit on the expensive side at: 1/2" CDX plywood (4'x8') at $105.00/sheet. Fortunately, this job only required 1 sheet of plywood for replacement. The crew manager contacted me when his crew encountered the damaged plywood and welcomed that I wanted to inspect it. It was an obvious replacement.

Description of Work: Four Seasons Home Improvement removed and hauled away the existing layer of roofing material (fiberglass shingles), installed an aluminum-insulated skylight, installed the watershield & and drip edge along gutterline edges, replaced the felt & installed new 30 yr. fiberglass shingle roof and replaced vent pipe collars. This was done on a single family home of approx. 2000 sq. feet with several porch roofs (no garage). The roof slope is 8/12.

Our interactions with Four Seasons, from the first phone conversations with Mike and Mark to touching base with Andrew when the work was completed, were positive and painless. They represented Four Seasons with great professionalism and the work they did was high-quality and just terrific. We are extremely happy with their service and with the finished product and would definitely use them again in the future.

Description of Work: Due to high winds, several pieces of the siding on our third floor had fallen off or come loose. It was a small job, relatively speaking, and I had worried about finding a firm to do the repairs. Four Seasons' Andrew Muhlbock came to the house several times to photograph and discuss the work required. He was very generous with his time, coming over after-hours to mesh with our work schedule. He explained what needed to be done in detail and set a fair price. The siding was replaced on the damaged side of the house, another piece was replaced on the porch and the sidiing on the opposite side of the addition was re-fastened.

Four Seasons and Rob Ellicot replied to my request for an estimate very quickly, came out, wrote up the estimate and quote, and even dropped it by my house for me. They did a friend?s house. He had recommended them to us. I thought their price was slightly high. I did not like their sales pitch either. They quoted me a humongous number and I told them that I would not use them. Then they called me back 2 days later and lowered it by $10,000. I told them that if they could reduce the price by such a big margin in 2 days just because I refused to use them, then I would not use them at all. I thought that was ridiculous. They quoted me $46,000 and lowered it to $36,000. They were responsive and punctual. I will not use them in future.

We had a 15% discount that went in effect at the beginning of October 2009 through the end of Dec 2009 due to the slow year in 2009. Additionally, In this case the salesman may have mis-calculated something, or offered an alternative product that cost less as an option to get a lower price, he may also have requested special material quotes due to the size of the job. It may also have been a combination of all three.

I didn't hire Four Seasons. I received an estimate, but I didn't hire them because the estimator overstayed my time for the estimate, and measured every window in the house, instead of just estimating, and while he was measuring, went on and on about their quality (in a way I found strange). He was at my house for at least 2-1/2 hours for the initial visit. Much longer than any other, but this was not a good thing. Focused mostly on their siding service and the finishing for the foil used to wrap wood. After the estimate, a person at the office called repeatedly (I felt badgered) trying to get me to commit to the job. In the end, this work was postponed due to an illness in the family and I chose another company when I had the work done.

This work was performed 3 years ago and apparently I forgot to post the review. However, this gives me the opportunity to tell you that everything (BUT SEE BELOW) they installed has stood the test of time. Salesman was helpful; workers were efficient, competent and neat. Everything (BUT SEE BELOW) they installed was top quality. More expensive than other firms but worth it to me. Note that prices may have changed drastically for all firms. Also, beware of the new EPA lead paint removal rules. NONE OF THE ABOVE applies to subcontractor-installed (forgot the name) gutters and downspouts. NOT WELL DONE. Suggest you look under appropriate ANGIE'S LIST listings for other contractors.

Dear Member, Thank you so much for taking the time to review our Company. We really appreciate your business your input! We are so happy to hear that you were satisfied with the work and you are enjoying your siding. It is good to hear you based your decision on components other than price. We have seen many people come to us after having shoddy work done by a different company and end up paying a lot more to fix mistakes. We do try to keep our prices as competitive as possible and do have an open book policy where we can show precisely what you're paying for. We hope you will think of us for work you may want in the future. Also, if there is any issues with the siding please give us a call and we come and fix it. Thank you so much again!
