The easiest thing to do is measure the height of the lower framework on the lift. The extrusions that connects each upright should measure roughly 2” wide x 4” tall for a 2600 or 3000 lb capacity and should measure roughly 2” wide x 5” for a 3600 or 4000 lb capacity.

When it comes to the ideal water depth for a boat lift, we at ShoreMaster personally like our water to be three or more feet deep. However, depending on the kind of boat lift you use, you can go as shallow as nine inches plus the draft.

You should raise it up far enough that waves won't hit the bottom of the boat. If you're on a lake where water levels change (like Lake Wisconsin or the Madison Lakes), make sure the boat is high enough that large waves and/or high water levels won't allow it to float away.

Choosing a boat lift that properly fits your pontoon or tritoon boat is essential. The ideal option is a boat lift made specifically to fit pontoon and tritoons. A pontoon boat lift that features adjustable width bunks is even more desirable, because the lift adjusts exactly to your boat's width.

How do I maintain my boat lift cables? You can add life to your cables by lubricating them with motor oil (don't use grease or WD40). Doing so regularly will help prevent undue wear and help to extend the life of your cables.

Addressing the noise involves realigning shaft collars, adjusting belt pulleys, and re-greasing the open worm gear. These steps can significantly reduce the noise.
